CEO & Founder - Akil Dunn
My name is Akil Dunn, and I am the founder and production head of YoungFlyLords (YFL). YoungFlyLords is a multi-media production company that seeks to aid the creative of any discipline in bringing their vision to life by providing them access to a connection pool of other like-minded and innovative creatives and talents, all with the end goal of helping grow their brand or business to its highest potential. After noticing the lack of a safe space for those within the creative community, I created YoungFlyLords as a solution to allow creatives to connect and build with one another. YoungFlyLords exists to provide the home base for all creatives, enabling any creative from any discipline to have a safe, comfortable, and transparent environment to work and collaborate on projects in an effort to produce the highest quality projects with genuine minds.
Before starting YoungFlyLords, I spent four and half years getting my B.A. in Philosophy at Coastal Carolina where I am scheduled to complete my degree and walk in spring of 2023. During this time, I have also spent three years serving as a legal aide/legislative assistant for South Carolina State Representative Marvin Pendarvis, as well as having served as the executive assistant to the COO of Vizn clothing, Tucker Galvan for two years.
Through a successful career helping Marvin in the courtroom and Tucker in the clothing production industry, I learned skills that have helped me understand how to mediate a respectable and transparent client/worker relationship. During my time with Marvin, I was able to obtain skills such as conducting client interviews while also learning how to understand and maintain general contact with clients. I learned how to conduct an investigation and build research on a variety of data types, statistically document the research, and draft legal documents. This role also required me to organize personal budgets and agendas. Under Tucker, I gained experience in the mechanics of running a successful clothing production company and upkeeping sales records. Additionally, in this role, I helped analyze clothing drops and created strategies to boost revenue and retain money. I hope to continue to use these skills as production head of YoungFlyLords and combine them with my natural sense of understanding of creativity and business to turn YFL into a powerhouse and safe place for all creatives to create, connect, and re-innovate how media connects with reality.

I am originally from Carle Place, NY, a small town on Long Island. I attended Siena College and Villanova University, where I earned a bachelor degree in economics and a masters degree in finance. I have spent two years since, working as an analyst and a consultant

Christian Springer
With a professional background that includes roles with various financial institutions, Christian brings a wealth of experience to his current position. He brings an entrepreneurial mindset with practical operational skills, allowing him to meet each challenge with a balanced and effective approach. Currently, Christian works as an analyst in a reputable New York City-based private equity firm, where he originates investment opportunities and conducts thorough investment analysis. His commitment to identifying partnership opportunities and driving results for entrepreneurs makes him a key contributor to Young Fly Lords' efforts.

Tomas Bakker
Growing up in Charleston, SC, I invested a good bit of my time watching cartoons. Although mostly everything self taught, it wasn't until 2020 that I decided to pursue a bachelor's degree in Animation. Ready for where ever my style may go, I stay equipped with a drive for creation that has gotten myself to work with the likes of popular artists such as, Highway 2009, 1st Class, NGeeYL, and various others.
Producer & Managing Director -Chynna Chan
Chynna is the lead show producer for our Hidden Spaces event as well as the managing director driving strategy for YoungFlyLords' extended brand & content initiatives. With a background in business development, broadcast television, & digital media marketing management, Chynna is at the pulse of what is relevant for today's evolving marketing industry. As a freelance multi-media producer & creative director, Chynna works directly with our brand & event partners alongside the YFL managing team to produce curated experiences that connect the larger media & art industry with up-and-coming talent seeking their big break. Chynna's style is driven by storytelling that shifts culture. She's passionate about developing disruptive content and bringing visions to life.

Kat Adams
I am a graduate of the College of Charleston with a B.A. in Arts Management and Communication. I currently work at Congo Brands as their Influencer Marketing Coordinator focusing on Alani Nutrition, where I build influencer programs and create marketing campaigns. My experience includes working at PepsiCo. for Rockstar Energy to drive trial and brand awareness among consumers by planning and executing strategic sampling activations.
